About us
2Volley is more than just a name; it’s a symbol of family, passion and the love for volleyball. The ‘2’ represents Zeynep Seda and her brother Yankı, two siblings who grew up playing volleyball together and went on to shine in the Turkish Volleyball national team for many years. Our journey from backyard games to national success is the heart of the academy. The ‘Volley’ part of our name embodies the spirit of teamwork, excitement and endless possibilities that come with every volley on the court. We believe in nurturing not just players but individuals who carry the values of sportsmanship, resilience and mindfulness both on and off the court.
Zeynep Seda Uslu
Volleyball is a game that I was born into, that I grew up with and that gives direction to all life. Long before my own athletic path, I watched my father on the court all through my childhood. I witnessed the life of a legend in my family first hand.
My life as an athlete started when I was 11 and went on until the age of 36 in the top professional level. I had many titles in Turkey and in Europe including Champions’ League Champion, Turkish Cup and Turkish League Champion several times. Meanwhile I graduated from Boğaziçi University, International Trade Department.
After my pro career as an athlete, I focused on the mental part of the game through Mindfulness Coaching. This was something that I had been longing for in and out of the court. It has been an amazing journey to share this mental approach with athletes. I worked with so many athletes from different branches, teams and age groups.
In 2022 I decided to move to Dubai, where my beloved brother is, and set up Upekkha Wellbeing in this intention. But volleyball was still calling me, I could observe that I had more to give to young generations as a Volleyball Coach this time.
The intention to build a volleyball academy wouldn’t exist if my brother was not involved in it. There would always be a missing part without his knowledge, experience and perspective. As always, I was again grateful to have him in my life as a brother and this time a business partner.
2Volley Academy came to existence with a long heritage from our family, a big love for this sport and a vision to give to younger generations. Our mission is not only to teach them how to play volleyball, but also to have a perspective about life through sports.
Sadi Yankı Uslu
Born into a family where volleyball has always been the topic of the dinner. Started playing competitively at the age of 12 and turned pro at 19 years old. Participated in European Championships of the U17 and U19 national teams as well as the Universiade team. Life took a turn when I decided to quit my 7 years of professional volleyball career to join one of the leading aviation companies in the world as cabin crew where I learned a lot about customer satisfaction. Of course I never disconnected from the sport.
Seda’'s relocation to Dubai became another milestone and volleyball became the main topic of the family gatherings again. We realised that we have a lot to contribute to the volleyball community in Dubai. Teaching volleyball and conveying our experience is our aim and we have the endless desire to understand, follow and grow the game.
